Thank you all for your support so far! This money is helping pay for renting the studio and paying the musicians. So far because of your help, I haven’t had to pay out of pocket.

There is still a lot left to do: Additional drums, bass, guitars, pedal steel, fiddle, mandolin, piano, vocals and harmonies. On top of that, I need to pay a publicist and do marketing.
As I’m sure you’re very well aware, streaming services barely pay. Recording an album as an independent musician is often a net loss. I’ve done everything I can to mitigate those losses by producing, engineering, playing guitar and bass as well as mastering the album once it is done. I have spent a lot of my own personal money building up a professional studio enviroment and learning how to engineer, mix and master in order to ultimately save having to outsource those. Unfortunately, some things like drums and electric guitars still have to be recorded in a professional studio to get the best sound. I have been renting out Elevated Music Studios to record what cannot be done in my small studio.
But, musicians deserve to be paid for their work. And there are so many other costs like photography, videography, publicity, marketing, and radio. I am so incredibly grateful to have people who believe in this album and have contributed substantially already.
I am recording a 12 song album with incredible musicians that I can’t wait to tell you about. With this Payne in the Neck Fundraiser, I have been releasing vaulted demos that are only available for the musicians for every $1,000 that I reach. You can view them all on Bandcamp and even see the lyrics in their current iteration.
